Based in Mississauga, Ontario, komorni zbor Zaklad (Zaklad Chamber Choir) is a new and emerging choir in the Canadian-Slovenian Community of Ontario. Under the fearless direction of Emma Margutsch, the group is committed to creating genuine musical experiences for both members and listeners, while placing specific emphasis  on repertoire by Slovenian and Canadian composers and lyricists. Still in development, Zaklad continues to grow in membership and passion, from a diverse array of musical backgrounds.

In Slovenian, the word ‘zaklad’ means ‘treasure’. Why zaklad... why treasure? Because singing and community in its truest form is a treasure. There are endless interpretations, philosophies, meanings - both obvious and hidden, for the word "zaklad"; both historic and modern. The possibilities of the word and the group are endless.
